Better sleep prevails with CBD oil

Even before the coronavirus unleashed its grip on America’s way of life, I struggled with getting proper sleep. And I didn't even know that 50 million to 70 million Americans have some type of sleep disorder.

During my frequent travels for work, I often found myself wide awake well before the sun came up. A few months ago when I transitioned my dad to assisted living, my travel commitments and stress levels increased while my hours of sleep dwindled further. Even at home, getting a restful night’s sleep was an exercise in futility.

The advice to get more sleep came from everywhere — a recent InsideTracker test showing elevated levels of cortisol, my running coach, health experts and everyone else. The recommendations, of course, were accurate. But the implementation was challenging.

Fortunately, I recently discovered what could be my salvation to get proper sleep each night. It came in a one-ounce bottle of magic, Prevail Full Spectrum CBD Oil. The recommendation is to take a small amount of the oil under your tongue, hold it for 30 seconds and swallow before going to bed.

Before I get to the results of my experiment, I will say that for full disclosure I am a Prevail Botanicals ambassador. I was offered ambassadorships from several different CBD companies but chose Prevail simply because its salves have worked wonders for me. Results of my test

A few years ago I tried and tested another brand’s CBD oil that promised to help with sleep. I calculated my average night’s sleep for a week, paused the experiment for a week and then started using the oil and tracked those nights. There was no discernible difference between the two data points.

I did another test with Prevail, first logging my nightly sleep total without taking the CBD oil. After taking a week off, I started with a drop of Prevail at bedtime and then logged those hours of sleep for a week. It’s important to note that I kept the days the same so that my commitments and stress levels for training, work and so forth would be comparable.

Here are the main takeaways:

  • Average sleep: Pre-Prevail: roughly 6 ¼ hours. With Prevail: roughly 7 ¼ hours.

  • Range: Pre-Prevail: 5 hours to 7 hours. With Prevail: 6.5 to 7 ¾ hours.

Those are the quantitative comparisons. From a qualitative sense, after starting Prevail, I generally felt like I had more energy during the day. Previously, I had been lackadaisical at night, failing to accomplish minor tasks for heading to bed. With Prevail, I was more productive while still getting to bed at the regular time.

More about the product

The 900mg CBD oil is made from non-gmo, organically grown Colorado hemp, combined with MCT oil. There are no parabens, polysorbates, or artificial emulsifiers. It is soy-free, gluten-free, naturally derived and made with organic ingredients.

Full-spectrum means the user receives all the benefits of cannabinoids but the product is still less than .03 percent THC.

While individual results may vary, Prevail says it helps users with sleep better, gain relief from anxiety and/or depression, and increase mental focus and clarity.

And it’s not just the company saying that. After trying out the CBD oil, I’m a believer.
