As we emerge from winter, it’s a relief to shed a layer or two during my morning runs. One of the layers I’ve used as a mid-layer is going to be my go-to outer layer as I transition to a lighter top over a tech shirt.

That’s the Odlo Essential Half Zip Midlayer. It’s a classic top that can be used over a baselayer, or right on your skin. During my runs, I have found the mid-layer to be very lightweight, incredibly comfortable and excellent at wicking away moisture. (For a more thorough review, check out my previous post here.)

Odlo uses the same soft, highly breathable, quick drying re-cycled polyester found in the rest of the Essential range. The addition of a half zip provides extra ventilation. Another feature I like is the reflective details for those runs that occur before sunrise or after sundown.

The mid-layer is made out of recycled material — no surprise because Odlo has been a leader in sustainability since its inception more than seven decades ago.
