Ultima is a healthy hydration mix for endurance athletes

After being sidelined from running due to emergency surgery in late spring, I have been chomping at the bit to resume my workouts. While I was able to return to light running in mid-June, I finally received permission from my surgeon to resume full training on July 9, exactly two months after abdominal surgery.

I, for one, won’t be complaining about the heat of the summer. Sweating in the scorching heat definitely beats walking laps around the hospital wing, which I did way too often.

Thankfully, I have been able to try out Ultima Replenisher, an electrolyte mix that works to help provide rehydration without upsetting the stomach. It is sweetened with stevia leaf and made with real fruit flavors.

Disclaimer: I received a sample pack of Ultima Replenisher to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro ambassador, and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!

Ultima Replenisher comes in a variety of flavors: orange, grape, lemonade, cherry pomegranate and raspberry. Each of the flavors adds a taste to water without becoming overpowering like some other hydration mixes tend to do.

Even better: there are zero carbs, sugar and calories in each mix packet. Ultima Replenishers are also caffeine-free, gluten-free, keto-friendly and vegan. No artificial colors or flavors.

Ultima Replenisher contains Vitamin C (calcium ascorbate) which supports the immune system, protects cells from oxidative stress and contributes to the reduction of fatigue. It also includes calcium, phosphorus, selenium, Zinc, magnesium and potassium.

I like the fact that Ultima is made with lower levels of sodium than other hydration products. It’s incredibly easy to get too much sodium in our diets so this was a welcome relief.

As I returned — slowly — to the roads and trails I tested various samples of Ultima with between 12 and 16 ounces of water per packet.

I found it to be a good way to quench my thirst on runs and bike rides up to an 60 minutes or so. (At this point, that’s as far as I can go. But I look forward to testing out my Ultima flavors on longer workouts.)
